Members of CGMA traveled from all parts of the United States and Canada to attend the convention. The Lynns received the Media Personality of the Year award, Lynda was presented Full Time Songwriter of the Year, and Bud was voted Lyricist of the Year by the members of CGMA.
Bud and Lynda were voted Media Personalities of the Year for the third consecutive year due to a number of guest appearances on many television and radio shows, including world wide Sky Angel Network programs. Lynda and Bud perform Lynda's songs and speak about a book that Lynda has authored about teenage rebellion, The Turning Point, A Teenagerʼs Rebellion.
They have appeared on programs including God Answers Prayer, Operation Outcry's Faces of Abortion, It's All About Youth, Texas Country Gospel, The New Jim Bakker Show and they are frequent guests on The Oasis Radio Network, Bott Radio Network and co-hosts on KJSL St. Louis Radio's Quest For Character.
Lynda's desire is to offer hope for parents who are struggling with rebellious teenagers, trusting God to "bring them through" and to share with the world the music that God has given her.
Lynda has received numerous ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), Branson Gospel Music Association and Country Gospel Music awards for songwriting. Bud played the title role of The Shepherd in The Shepherd of the Hills play for many years.
Award winners are now eligible to perform at the CGMA International Convention that will be held Oct. 19 through the 24 in Branson, Mo.
