Eureka Thyme to host Gourd artist reception, Saturday

Eureka Thyme will feature the Native American Gourd art of Stone Akin on Sept. 12, during the Second Saturday Gallery Stroll.

A reception will be held for Stone and Karol Akin between 6 and 8 p.m. at the gallery at 19 Spring St.

"The spiritual values of my Indian heritage, coupled with my previous vocation in the architectural design field, are reflected in my art, Stone said. "Each piece is a part of nature, even my paints are taken from Mother Earth."
