6:40 p.m. -- A caller said someone was "tampering with the power line by the train station" but the responding officer found no basis for the complaint.

7:45 a.m. -- An officer visited a US62E discount store which was without phone service.
9:31 a.m. -- An officer visited a Florence St. residence and convinced a woman to surrender her ex-husband's car keys.
10 a.m. -- Following calls from several motorists, an officer located and arrested a motorist on US62E for DWI.
12:53 p.m. -- A minor, two-vehicle accident occurred on S. Main St.
3:34 p.m. -- An officer documented a two-car traffic accident on US62W.
6:20 p.m. -- An officer responded to a caller who reported hearing a gunshot near a US62E residence.
6:38 p.m. -- An officer assisted sheriff's department personnel in an unsuccessful attempt to locate a person at a Center St. nightclub.
7:38 p.m. -- A false alarm was tripped at a Spring St. restaurant.
7:47 p.m. -- An employee of a US62E family center told police two men "opened a pack of batteries and put them in their pocket and put the package back on the rack."

11 a.m. -- A caller at a US62E motel reported property stolen.
1:40 p.m. -- An officer cleared the roadway after a transit department employee reported a cable line across the street near the intersection of Pine St. and Prospect Ave.
Thursday, Sept. 17
1:27 a.m. -- The animal control officer was asked to check on a dog barking at an upper Spring St. residence.
2:22 a.m. -- An officer arrested a motorist for DWI on Hwy. 23S.
3:44 a.m. -- A Spring St. resident complained about loud drunks waking her up and the responding officer encountered loud drunks in front of their own residence who were advised to go inside and let their neighbors sleep.
6:59 a.m. -- A contractor triggered a false alarm at a US62E bank.
7:59 a.m. -- An officer was asked to check on a truck whose occupants were spraying something "near a creek" on N. Main St.
8:09 a.m. -- A vending machine was burgled at a US62E motel.
11:21 a.m. -- Another vending machine was robbed at a different US62E motel.
1:01 p.m. -- A detective and two officers responded when a caller reported an "agitated" person walking in the roadway on US62E.
2:01 p.m. -- Following a complaint from a shopowner, an officer was unable to find any evidence that a shoplifter had been at work.
2:10 p.m. -- A Spring St. shopowner complained about loud music in Basin Spring Park.
3:51 p.m. -- Two cars collided on US62E.
5:22 p.m. -- A caller told police that hospital personnel would not answer the phone.

1:59 p.m. -- A private-property accident occurred in the parking lot of a US62E roadhouse.
10:05 p.m. -- An officer investigated an abandoned 911 call at a Pivot Rock Rd. residence.
10:55 p.m. -- A traffic stop on US62E resulted in the arrest of a motorist for DWI, driving left of the center line, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and implied consent.
11:45 p.m. -- A customer who refused to leave a S. Main St. nightclub insisted an officer should come and "help" her.
Saturday, Sept. 19
1:08 a.m. -- After a drunk fell down on S. Main St., officers who tried to assist him arrested him for public intoxication and disorderly conduct instead after he unwisely decided to resist arrest.
11:46 a.m. -- A woman selling puppies downtown was informed about Eureka's anti-solicitation ordinance and advised to leave.
1:52 p.m. -- Two officers spoke with a couple who were swapping angry words in a US62E parking lot.
3:38 p.m. -- A false alarm was triggered at a Hwy. 23S business.
4:18 p.m. -- The operator of a US62E station reported a gas drive-off by a woman driving a red pickup and gave police her license number.
4:39 p.m. -- A caller at a downtown hotel told police her vehicle was side-swiped and asked an officer to document it.
6:26 p.m. -- Police were unable to intercept a blue Jeep Liberty which a reserve officer said was headed recklessly toward town on Hwy. 23S.
6:46 p.m. -- A S. Main St. shopkeeper reported shoplifters at work at various Spring St. businesses.
9:04 p.m. -- A caller told police fire was "coming off the roof" at a US62W barbecue joint.
10 p.m. -- A officer was dispatched to deliver an emergency message to a resident of a S. Main St. dwelling.
Sunday, Sept. 20
12:49 a.m. -- An officer talked with a caller about a "civil matter" which involved two people who "are not to be in close proximity to each other."
9:42 a.m. -- A caller at a Historic Loop residence told police his home was broken into overnight and he "thinks he knows who did it."
3 p.m. -- Three officers were unable to locate a sick raccoon reported near Charles Cr.
3:12 p.m. -- A neighbor complained about loud noise coming from a US62E bar.
8:05 p.m. -- Officers observed a neighborly dispute on Pivot Rock Rd. but found no need for official action.
10:57 p.m. -- The owner of a closed restaurant on US62E was informed about a broken glass door.
11:37 p.m. -- An alarm was tripped at a US62E liquor store.
