Monday, Sept. 28

10:15 a.m. -- A caller informed police her vehicle was dumped on by a possibly over-weight dump truck while driving on Hwy. 23N.

11:57 a.m. -- The operator of an upper Spring St. shop reported being ripped off by a shoplifter.

2:04 p.m. -- A man known to police for behaving peculiarly was living up to his reputation when reported by a US62E saloonkeeper as "acting strangely."

4:49 p.m. -- A shoplifter was unable to give police the slip at a downtown lingerie shop.

6:48 p.m. -- A woman who broke a window at a Mill Hollow residence was arrested.

7:07 p.m. -- A mail box was vandalized at an Armstrong St. residence.

7:25 p.m. -- A US62E shopkeeper asked police to check on a suspicious person strolling behind a shop and an officer later spotted the subject walking along the highway.

9:50 p.m. -- A caller thought there might be something suspicious about a motorist driving 20 mph all the way from Berryville to Eureka Springs.

Tuesday, Sept. 29

12:17 a.m. -- A Passion Play Rd. resident reported hearing gunshots and the information was relayed to the sheriff's department.

3:35 a.m. -- Police checked on the welfare of a US62W resident who was having difficulty breathing.

7:50 a.m. -- Construction workers triggered a false alarm at a US62W bank.

8:57 a.m. -- A Parks and Recreation Commission official report public property vandalized on Magnetic Springs Rd.

11:09 a.m. -- A caller advised the police about construction equipment blocking traffic on Flint St.

Wednesday, Sept. 30

11:09 a.m. -- A salesman going door-to-door on Wall St. talked with an officer and then left town.

11:58 a.m. -- An employee of a S. Main St. shop reported merchandise stolen.

2:40 p.m. -- No one was injured in a minor motorcycle accident which occurred on S. Main St.

Thursday, Oct. 1

8:16 a.m. -- Police were unable to locate a reportedly reckless driver on Hwy. 23N.

8:34 a.m. -- Police received a second call about a reckless driver "passing on double yellow at a high rate of speed" on Hwy. 23N.

12:14 p.m. -- An employee of a US62E discount store told police the building's doors had been damaged and a responding officer determined the damage was caused by customers pushing shopping carts through them.

1:26 p.m. -- Several people complained about unusually loud music in Basin Spring Park and an officer asked the band to turn it down.

2:01 p.m. -- The animal control officer disposed of a deer which died near the intersection of N. Main St. and Mill Hollow Rd.

3:05 p.m. -- A caller at a US62E motel asked police to remove a man sleeping on the floor who had been panhandling guests for money and smokes.

8:52 p.m. -- A caller at a Mountain St. bar told police about a man who was "yelling and screaming and acting crazy."

Friday, Oct. 2

6:35 a.m. -- Hospital staff asked police to check on the welfare of an intoxicated patient who wanted out of the facility and added that he "was still very impaired."

12:10 p.m. -- No one was injured when two vehicles collided at the intersection of Mountain and Center streets.

12:11 p.m. -- A Ridgeway St. resident reported her property damaged by vandals.

4:27 p.m. -- An employee at a Passion Play Rd. pharmacy reported merchandise stolen.

6:21 p.m. -- Police were unable to intercept a red Mustang which a caller said was headed for town on Hwy. 23S, "driving fast and passing on double yellow."

6:26 p.m. -- A minor private-property traffic accident occurred in the parking lot of a S. Main St. pub.

9:26 p.m. -- An employee of a US62E discount store asked for a police escort to the bank.

9:37 p.m. -- The manager of a N. Main St. hotel told police someone stole an employee's purse.

11:20 p.m. -- After a caller alleged Corvettes were stopping in front of a US62E gas station before peeling out and burning rubber, the dispatcher talked with an officer on the scene who said no such activity was observed, "at this time."

Saturday, Oct. 3

12:43 a.m. -- A motorist complained about three females walking a dog "that won't get out of the way of vehicles" on Ojo St.

12:46 a.m. -- A caller expressed concern about the continued welfare of a known individual who was "doing his kung foo right on the white line on US62."

3:46 a.m. -- An officer observed a motorist make an improper turn on Hwy. 23S, stopped the vehicle, conducted a field sobriety test of its driver and executed an arrest for DWI.

4:54 p.m. -- An officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a N. Main St. residence and advised a man to leave and not return to the property.

6:10 p.m. -- After hospital staff asked police to speak with a belligerent man, an officer arrived and noted he had calmed down as he called for a ride to a motel.

6:39 p.m. -- Callers complained about Corvettes burning rubber on US62E and officers were dispatched to monitor the area.

8:36 p.m. -- A caller told police a group of teenagers were standing very close to US62E and kicking trash into traffic.

Sunday, Oct. 4

9:02 a.m. -- Someone let the air out of tires on six vehicles parked at a Historic Loop hotel.

10:15 a.m. -- A sick raccoon was "put down" by an officer on Mill Hollow Rd.

10:45 a.m. -- A traffic control officer checked on the welfare of a downtown parking meter and found it hard at work.

11:35 a.m. -- An employee at a Huntsville Rd. motel told police guests damaged a room.

11:37 a.m. -- A purse which had been reported stolen was reported found at an upper-Spring St. inn.

11:55 a.m. -- A woman complained about her ex-husband driving past her N. Main St. residence "screaming obscenities."

12 p.m. -- An officer noticed a "strange flag" flying underneath the U.S. and Arkansas flags at the elementary school.

12:25 p.m. -- A caller complained about receiving harassing text messages from his ex-wife.

3:31 p.m. -- A sign was reported vandalized at a Historic Loop inn.

9:03 p.m. -- People reportedly fighting by the side of US62E departed before officers arrived.
