David Paul Bitner, a resident of Holiday Island, was born Aug. 31, 1944 in Ottumwa, Iowa, a son of Kenneth and Lola (Pearson) Bitner. He died on Thursday, Oct. 22 in Holiday Island at the age of 65.

Mr. Bitner was a ham radio operator, a member of Lions Club International and a Eureka Springs Police Department Dispatcher.

On May 14, 1993, he married Linda LaForce who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Sean and wife Angela Bitner of Chicago, Ill. and Jeremy Bitner of Holiday Island; one brother, Daniel and wife Julie Bitner of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sisters, Lorenia Nicks of Tulsa, Okla. and Marilyn Compton of Tuscan, Ariz.; one grandchild, Nicole Bitner of Chicago, Ill.; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dorothy of Birmingham Tuscon, Ariz. and one brother, Richard Bitner of Ottumwa, Iowa.
