9:45 p.m. -- A sheriff's deputy reported receiving an abandoned 911 call from a Hwy. 23S motel and a responding officer determined there was no emergency at the lodging facility.

9:35 a.m. -- A caller at a US62E nursing home told police an unauthorized person is on the premises and refuses to leave.
1:10 p.m. -- A mother reported her son's jacket stolen.
Wednesday, Oct. 28
1:35 p.m. -- A private-property accident occurred in the parking lot of an Onyx Cave Rd. business.
10:05 p.m. -- A caller asked police to check on the welfare of a woman who "is crying and talking to herself" while walking in traffic on US62E.
Thursday, Oct. 29
7:55 a.m. -- Officers were unable to locate a white Altima with an Arkansas license plate reportedly "passing other vehicles at a high rate of speed" on US62.
10:55 a.m. -- Following an anonymous call, police relayed information to the State Police and authorities in Madison and Washington counties about a silver car which was "passing on the double yellow at high rates of speed" while hurdling along Hwy. 23S away from town.
1:35 p.m. -- No one was injured when two vehicles collided on US62E.
7:32 p.m. -- After a call from sheriff's department personnel, two officers safely removed the occupants of a car which was filling up with water while stuck in the creek beside Mill Hollow Rd.
9:11 p.m. -- The presence of two officers at a US62E inn was enough to motivate those involved in a domestic disturbance to resolve their own problems without official intervention.
Friday, Oct. 30
1:30 a.m. -- A woman at a Pivot Rock Rd. residence asked police to check on the welfare of her ex-boyfriend but police were unable to locate him at the address she supplied.
2:51 a.m. -- A caller at a Mountain St. apartment building complained about an upstairs neighbor who "came home drunk and is being loud and disorderly, hollering and playing the guitar," then called back and said he'd crashed.
4:30 p.m. -- A caller at a US62E convenience store told police a man in a green truck wearing a baseball cap with a scruffy beard ran her off the road, gave her the finger and is being aggressive toward her.
5:34 p.m. -- A caller told police kids on top of the Basin Spring Park bandshell are chunking rocks at people.
9:49 p.m. -- A caller asked officers to check on a suspicious man prowling around a US62W gift shop.
10:03 p.m. -- A caller asked police for help after a motorist parked a car in the middle of a downtown street preventing a semi from leaving.
Saturday, Oct. 31
2:05 a.m. -- A woman entered the police station and asked for help retrieving her two-year-old daughter from her residence and said her husband had "thrown her around."
2:23 a.m. -- A caller at a downtown hotel told police people were arguing and yelling at each other in front of a Spring St. restaurant.
11:21 a.m. -- A vehicle parked near a Pivot Rock Rd. residence was reportedly vandalized.
2:16 p.m. -- A tourist called and asked to speak with an officer about being yelled at by the staff of a US62E motel.
2:53 p.m. -- Police were informed about an ATV tooling around the trails at Black Bass Lake.
8:33 p.m. -- Officers were unable to locate a white Yukon reportedly being driven recklessly on US62E.
8:45 p.m. -- A caller told police an underage motorist is driving a Ford F150 recklessly on the Historic Loop.
9:07 p.m. -- Two officers were unable to find an explanation for a caller's assertion that he heard gunshots in the vicinity of Harmon Park.
9:26 p.m. -- Two officers responded to a caller's complaint that rowdy bikers were harassing people by surrounding them and not letting them walk through Basin Spring Park.
9:56 p.m. -- The manager of a US62E discount store asked for a police escort to the bank.
11:01 p.m. -- A caller asked an officer to document damage to her car which occurred while it was parked on N. Main St.
11:25 p.m. -- A caller reported hearing gunshots behind a US62E nursing home.
Sunday, Nov. 1
12:01 a.m. -- An officer stopped an unsafe vehicle on Planer Hill and arrested a motorist for driving with a suspended license.
1:55 a.m. -- Three officers responded to a report of a vehicle that drove off the side of US62E and arrested its driver for DWI.
5:42 p.m. -- A vehicle parked on Pivot Rock Rd. was vandalized.
