Monday, Nov. 16

2:43 p.m. -- After an anonymous tip about a reckless driver headed for town on Hwy. 23N., an officer intercepted the motorist and offered some timely advice about his driving style.

3:21 p.m. -- A traffic stop on US62E resulted in an arrest for driving on a suspended license.

5:28 p.m. -- A caller at a US62E assisted care center asked police to send EMS personnel to deal with a resident who "threatened to do bodily harm to himself."

Tuesday, Nov. 17

12:17 p.m. -- A caller at an Armstrong St. residence reported his home burglarized.

5:59 p.m. -- A woman told police her vehicle struck a deer on US62E.

Wednesday, Nov. 18

12:06 p.m. -- A detective investigated the theft of concrete finishing equipment from a location on Hwy. 23S.

2:58 p.m. -- A caller on Benton St. asked police to "put down" a sick raccoon.

3:22 p.m. -- A woman asked police to assist her with a problematic parking meter at the courthouse.

7:40 p.m. -- In response to a request from sheriff's department personnel, two officers investigated a vehicle parked on Ridgeview which "is not supposed to be there."

Thursday, Nov. 19

10:24 a.m. -- Police were informed about a "possible dispute" at a US62E assisted care facility.

2:40 p.m. -- An absentee landlord asked police to check out unspecified circumstances at a Wall St. residence and the officer informed him the situation is a civil, not criminal, matter.

7:50 p.m. -- EMS personnel asked for backup in dealing with a person refusing treatment at a Spring St. residence.

8:18 p.m. -- An employee of a US62E saloon reported a computer stolen.

10:05 p.m. -- A false alarm was triggered at a US62E restaurant.

Friday, Nov. 20

1:03 a.m. -- An officer transported two intoxicated people behind a S. Main St. bar to their hotel.

2:04 a.m. -- A motorist driving by the train depot received a one-way ticket to an arrest for DWI.

7:08 a.m. -- A false alarm was triggered at a US62E discount store.

9:43 a.m. -- A caller at a Linwood St. residence told police she is being harassed.

11:45 a.m. -- The driver of a bus was unable to drive through the drive-thru of a US62E fast-food outlet and management called police for help in unclogging their artery.

12:25 p.m. -- A detective arrested a person named in an outstanding warrant from Berryville.

12:27 p.m. -- A caller at a US62E convenience store provided police with information about a suspicious vehicle.

5:27 p.m. -- A downtown restaurant owner informed police that several would-be motorists were stewing in a traffic jam near Basin Spring Park.

9:49 p.m. -- A caller asked police to investigate a suspicious vehicle and a possible intruder at a US62E cafe.

11:44 p.m. -- Three officers stopped a vehicle near the elementary school and arrested one of its occupants for possession of a controlled substance.

Saturday, Nov. 21

2:38 p.m. -- An employee of a downtown hotel asked an officer to document an allegation of theft and property damage.

5:06 p.m. -- A caller reported a tire slashed on a car parked behind a Spring St. business.

6:01 p.m. -- An allegedly "rabid raccoon" wandering in the road was profiled by a caller on Owen St.

Sunday, Nov. 22

1:24 a.m. -- After a motorist bounced a vehicle off a retaining wall downtown, four officers located the crunched conveyance and arrested its operator for DWI.

2:17 a.m. -- A woman at a S. Main St. nightclub complained about having her vehicle vandalized and being threatened.

3:06 p.m. -- A staffer at a US62E assisted-care facility asked police for help with a resident who wanted out and threatened to "go off on them" in they didn't let him go.

6:35 p.m. -- An employee at a downtown watering hole asked police to document property damage which occurred when a tippler "cut up and damaged a bar stool."
