Aileen Lydia Mary Putman, a resident of Holiday Island, was born July 26, 1915, in Manhattan, Kan., a daughter of James Leland and Lucinda Marietta (Johnson) Murphy. She died on Dec. 20 at Holiday Island at the age of 94.

Mrs. Putman was a caretaker for the elderly and a seamstress. She also took care of Everett Faucett. She was of the Mormon faith.

She is survived by three children, Darrell and wife Ruth McGowen of Illinois and Lucinda McGowen and Novella Reynolds of Alpena; two stepchildren, Charles Putman of California and David and wife Marge Putman of Berryville; two sisters-in-law, Mavis Boorem and Robbie Wisdom; nine grandchildren; nieces, Judy and Dalton Williams; other nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

On June 28, 1996 she married Noah Fletcher Putman, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Private family services will be held at a later date.
