Arts Council, CAPC to prepare guide for city

Thursday, January 21, 2010

The Eureka Springs Arts Council and the City Advertising and Promotion Commission (CAPC) are preparing an art guide for the city of Eureka Springs. The Arts and Cultural Guide will list galleries, artists, art-related events and sites of interest and will be made available to visitors.

The pending opening of the Crystal Bridges Museum of Art in Bentonville will generate an influx of visitors to Northwest Arkansas and many will visit Eureka Springs. The Arts Council and the CAPC feel an inclusive art guide for Eureka Springs will be a valuable tool for these art-interested visitors.

Professional artists and gallery owners residing in and/or operating businesses in Western Carroll County who would like to be included in the guide are asked to submit information for inclusion. Also, on-going art events that occur in the area will be listed as well as cultural sites of interest in the Western District. Submissions should be 30 words or less. The deadline for copy is March. 1.

Included in the 30 words, artists may list name, media and contact information that includes phone, address, gallery representation and/or Web address. Galleries may list name, address, phone, Web address and a brief description of the art they display.

Submission forms are available at the CAPC office at 121 E. Van Buren, Suite 3B, below and behind the Lovin' Oven in The Quarter. CAPC office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Online requests for submission forms in Word are available by emailing zeek.taylor@cox.net Completed forms should be returned via e-mail to zeek.taylor@cox.net or mailed to Zeek Taylor, 12 White St., Eureka Springs, AR 72632.
