Eureka Springs artist chosen for Louisiana exhibition
For the second year in a row, Eureka Springs resident and Holiday Island Art Guild member Betty Johnson has been accepted in the International Exhibition on Animals in Art held at the School of Veterinary Medicine Library at Louisiana State University.
Johnson's painting, "Mardi Growl," was one of 75 works accepted out of 477 entered for the exhibition's 23rd show.
Johnson plans to attend the show's opening reception on Saturday, March 27 at the Veterinary Medicine Library in Baton Rouge, La. The exhibit will close on April 25.
(Ed. note: the Feb. 25 print edition incorrectly names the artist as Carol McGowen and her location. Betty Johnson lives in Eureka Springs but is a member of the Holiday Island Art Guild. These errors will be corrected in next week's edition. We apologize for any confusion they may cause.)
