Clear Spring Middle School (CSS) students are currently raising funds for an upcoming educational trip to New Mexico in April.

Library seeks donated volumes for book sale
The Eureka Springs Carnegie Public Library is now accepting "gently used" books for its annual spring book sale.
Donations are needed by April 9. Books may be donated at the library at 194 Spring St. All proceeds will go to the library's acquisition funds. For details, call 253-8754.
Shakespeare Cinema Series at the Carnegie
Shakespeare in the Ozarks (SitO) will present a free screening of the film version of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Carnegie Public Library Annex at 192 Spring St. on Thursday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m.
The film stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Kevin Kline and Callista Flockhart and is rated PG-13. It will be the first in a series of films featuring the works of William Shakespeare to be presented by SitO.
Beer can collectors to convene March 14
The Vic Olsen Memorial Show for beer can and breweriana collectors will be held at the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center on March 14.

Church choirs to perform at HI Church
Church choirs will sing in the Church Choir Festival March 14 at the Holiday Island Community Church. This will be the third Choir Festival held since 2005.
Lynda Jesse, of College of the Ozarks music faculty in Point Lookout, Mo., will be the guest director. A brass ensemble, organ and about 80 singers are expected to participate in seven mass choir numbers.

EUU to discuss 'Women and Spirituality'
The Eureka Unitarian Universalist (EUU) Fellowship will host an appearance by a panel of three speakers who will discuss "Women and Spirituality" on Sunday, March 14 at 11 a.m. at 17 Elk St.
Ramona McNeal, Sharon Spurling and Donna Woods will lead the discussion about the role of spirituality in women's lives.
An open-subject discussion group will meet at 10 a.m.

Doggie Style Show seeks input, volunteers
A short planning meeting for the upcoming Doggie Style Show to benefit the Good Shepherd Humane Society will be held on Tuesday, March 16, at 6 p.m. in the Pine Room at the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks. Snacks and drinks will be served.
The Doggie Style Show will need many volunteers from the community to make the fundraiser a reality. Those who can assist in any way are invited to attend the March 16 meeting. Those who want to help but cannot attend the meeting may call Tracellen Kelly at (479) 981-2886.
Planning to hold Vision Plan workshop
The Eureka Springs Planning Commission will hold a workshop to review the Donaghey Vision Plan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 18 in the jury room on the second floor of the Western District Carroll County Courthouse at 44 S. Main St.
Workshops are casual meetings where public input is invited. Unlike formal Planning Commission meetings, workshops are not televised.
The Donaghey Vision Plan was prepared in 1996 and serves as a non-binding master vision plan for the city's future growth. The Planning Commission is reviewing the plan in regard to its current relevance and is seeking public input on the matter. Copies of the plan can be obtained at the City Clerk's office in city hall.
E Kids spring break registration now open
Registration is now open for the Eureka Kids spring break trip to Grand Country Indoor Waterpark in Branson, Mo.
The excursion will leave on Friday, March 26 and return on Sunday, March 28. Spring break activities will include the indoor waterpark, laser tag, miniature golf and a ride on the amphibious Ducks.
Registration is open to all area students and is $40 for the weekend. Parent volunteers are welcome as well as younger siblings accompanied by a parent.

CSS Spring Raffle drawing, March 22
As part of its spring fundraising activities, Clear Spring School (CSS) is sponsoring a Spring Raffle.
Tickets are $5 and are available from CSS parents or by calling 253-0762. The drawing will be held on March 22. The winner will receive a variety of items, including: two tickets to the CSS Spring Auction on March 27; a $50 gift certificate to The Horizon Restaurant; a massage, facial and body scrub; a spring bouquet of flowers; four hours of housecleaning; and the planting of two flowering trees.
