Mary Nell McKinney, age 90, died on March 25 in Eureka Springs. She was born May 25, 1919 in Greenwood, the daughter of Frank and Nell Mae (Owens) Gunther.
Mary Nell was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Holiday Island Community Church. She was a member of the P.E.O., she loved playing bridge with her friends and was a member of several bridge clubs over the years.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert Dwain and wife Ari McKinney of Katy, Texas; Richard Alan and wife Nancy McKinney of Baton Rouge, La.; granddaughters, Diana Rae McKinney of Houston, Texas; Wendy Leigh and husband Chad Patrick Lovell of Arlington, Texas; grandson, Richard Alan McKinney Jr. of Baton Rouge, La.; great grandchildren, Aiden Joseph Lovell, Alura Rose Lovell, and Xander Robert Lovell of Arlington, Texas; several other relatives and many friends.
On May 2, 1941 Mary Nell married John Robert Williams McKinney who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann McKinney and two brothers, Andrew Paul (A.P.) and Frank Gunther.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 1 at the Holiday Island Community Church with Rev. Allan Thrasher officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens at the Holiday Island Community Church. Funeral arrangements were made by Nelson Funeral Service.
