He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Menard where he operated an LCM transporting troops and equipment to the beach. He worked in construction, including the building of Beaver Dam and he was a long-haul truck driver. He loved wood working, fishing, playing the guitar and telling stories.
He is survived by three sisters, Edna Colvin, Mildred Bezjian and husband Bill, Juanita Braswell and husband Gene, all of Eureka Springs; nieces and nephews, Janine Bezjian Budden and husband Dennis of Bothell, Wash., Michael Bezjian and wife Rhonda of Bentonville, Michele Cyrus and husband Chris of Seattle, Wash., Melinda Morrell and husband David, Chuck Braswell and wife Christy, David Braswell and wife Donna and Lita Braswell all of Eureka Springs; one aunt, Evelyn Caywood of Hermiston, Ore.; several cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a baby sister, Geneva; and his long-time companion, Marie Belva.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 17 at the Union Chapel Cemetery in Garfield with Pastor Gary Hayhurst officiating.
