Geneva B. Engelhardt died on Easter Sunday, April 4. Geneva was born on March 26, 1909 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the eldest of six children.
She married Charles Shown and had one daughter, Sharon, and a stepson, Hampton. Charles Shown passed away in 1964, and Geneva later married Eugene Engelhardt.
Geneva worked many years as a secretary for the Fort Worth Independent School District. She was a life-long devout Christian Scientist and was very involved with her church. Throughout her life, Geneva enjoyed many interests including painting, horseback riding, tennis, gardening, extensive travel and she was an avid reader. Music was an integral part of Geneva's life and she loved playing the organ.
Geneva was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Shown Jeffrey, her stepson, three sisters and one brother. She leaves behind one sister, Theresa McKee, three granddaughters, one grandson and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Geneva was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and she will be missed by many. A memorial service was held on April 7 at the Christian Science Society in Eureka Springs.
