Warren still missing

Wednesday, July 21, 2010
EUREKA SPRINGS -- There are no new developments in the search for Arlene Warren according to Carroll County Sheriff Bob Grudek. Grudek said Warren's disappearance is not considered a crime because no matter how long someone is missing, there must be some sort of information that implies a crime before the situation is treated as one.

Brian Warren, son of the missing woman, had told deputies early in the investigation that his mother occasionally took off without explanation; since no further clues are forthcoming, the CCSO still considers her a missing person.

The terrain around her home is steep with a lot of underbrush, Grudek said, and it was the first place searched although nothing turned up. Sheriff's deputies will not be searching it again, and will not be using dogs to sniff out clues.

Grudek said that deputies will be trying something else quite soon, but he was unwilling to divulge anything further at this time.
