Citizen of the Week

Thursday, August 5, 2010

Maggie Seilbert of Lee's Summit, Mo., put her CPR training to the test at Yellowstone National Park recently. She was on a geological field trip with her college class when potential tragedy reared up.

While watching Old Faithful erupt, the weather turned stormy and lightning struck a man in the foot, knocking him unconscious. Maggie's cool head prevailed, and she stopped and revived the man, who suffered a ruptured eardrum and concussion.

Maggie is the daughter of Betsy Crews Seilbert of Missouri, granddaughter of Gary and Mary Jane Crews and great-granddaughter of Maggie Fanning, all of Eureka Springs.
