Eldora Shirley (Ball) Rogers Redenz, 76, of Eagle Rock, Mo,, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16 at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield.

She was born January 19, 1934, in a log house in Smallwood Holler near Mano, Mo., the daughter of Ethel and Edith (Carter) Ball. On Nov. 25, 1957, she was united in marriage to Gene Byron Rogers, who preceded her in death in 1986. On Oct. 25, 1991, in Eagle Rock, she married Gerald "Jerry" Redenz, who died Oct. 14, 2003. Others preceding her in death were her parents and one step-grandchild.

Surviving relatives are one step-son, Joseph Redenz and his wife, Tina of Greer, South Carolina; two step-daughters, Jerri Laitenen of Utah and Jeanine Schnelle and her husband, Michael of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, Varl Ball of Eagle Rock, Mo. and Jimmie Ball of Seneca, Mo.; two sisters, Geneva Indermuehle of Holts Summit, Mo., and Patricia Pettigrew of Dixon Springs, Tenn.; three step-grandchildren, Yvonne Laitenen, Callie Schnelle and Amanda Schnelle and several nieces and nephews.

Eldora grew up in Eagle Rock. She received her education at Munsey -- Eagle Rock Elementary and graduated from Cassville High School. In 1953 she attended Southwest Baptist University at Bolivar, Missouri for one year. She then transferred to SMSU (now MSU) for a year.

In 1963 she received her Masters Degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.

Eldora began her teaching career in a one-room school house in Andrew County, Mo. As the districts consolidated she remained in that area, retiring from the Savannah R-III School District after thirty-two years of teaching. For several years she was librarian for the Eagle Rock Community Center and also helped with Meals On Wheels in the Eagle Rock area. She was a member of Roaring River Baptist Church at Eagle Rock.

Some of her favorite pastimes were working crossword puzzles, crocheting and gardening.

Graveside services were Sept. 20 at Munsey Cemetery, Eagle Rock, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.
