Citizen of the Week

Michael Walsh was instrumental in the passage of Eureka Springs' Domestic Partnership Registry, which allows at least some recognition of relationship of partners who cannot or choose not to marry. It also provides a valuable source of revenue for our city and its business owners.

Michael persistently worked toward the goal of getting the city to make health insurance coverage available for domestic partners of all city workers, not just those who are married.

When the city said "We can't do it," Michael said, "Yes we can!" and provided information to convince the Municipal League to change its insurance discrimination policy.
