Charlotte Purdy Livesay
Charlotte Purdy Livesay, 87, of Eureka Springs, formerly of Kerrville, Texas, transitioned on January 5, 2011 at her home. Charlotte was born on the island in Galveston, Texas to Paul Hombs Purdy and Bernice Steinhort Purdy on July 23, 1923.
Charlotte worked as an assistant advertising manager for Studer's Photo in San Antonio from 1964 -- 1968. She designed handbags for Collins of Texas and was a graphic artist for Mooney Aircraft from 1975 -- 1981.
One son, Edwin Flood of Kerrville, and a granddaughter, Kelly Flood Lewellen, preceded her in death. Two children, Jenny Wagget of Eureka Springs and Paul Flood of Bulverde, Texas, as well as her sister, Elizabeth Wallace of DeSoto, Texas, survive her.
Her six surviving grandchildren are Chuck Swain, Dana Swain, Paul Thomas, Jr., Cheri Flood Craig, Kathryn Flood Rodriguez and Christina Flood Atkins. Twelve great-grandchildren include Jaden Swain, Alexis Flood, Devon Craig, Jayden Hopper, Shelby, Elise, and Eathan Lewelleln, Amber Lindeman, Kelley, Lindsay and James Flood and Alyssa Rodriguez.
Charlotte was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a wonderful wit and humor, and never missed an opportunity to put her dancing shoes on. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be missed by so many.
A celebration of her life was held January 16 in Wimberley, Texas, and another will be Friday, January 28, at The Space in Eureka Springs from 6 - 8 p.m. Donations may be made in her name to her favorite charity at Eureka Christian Healthcare Outreach, 4004 East Van Buren, Berryville, AR 72616.
