LaVonne Marie Gilmore, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born March 19, 1948 in Butte, Neb., a daughter of Ernest Walter and Lotice Elaine (Hensley) Rosenkrans. She departed this life March 28 in Springdale, at the age of 63.
Lavonne was the pastor's wife of the First Assembly of God Church in Eureka Springs. She ministered with her husband in Gibbon and Mitchell, Neb.; Collinsville and Pekin, Ill.; and Wichita, Kan.
She played as an accomplished pianist most of her life. The piano was her instrument of worship that blessed all who heard her play.
On June 24, 1967, she was united in marriage with Lawrence Gene Gilmore, who survives her of the home. She is also survived by one son, Matthew Gilmore of Eureka Springs; one daughter, Laura and her husband, Bob Smyer, of Rantoul, Ill.; one brother, Larry and his wife, Karen Rosenkrans, of Alvarado, Texas; grandchildren, Shiloh Gilmore, Samara Smyer, Stone Smyer, and Simeon Smyer, several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service was held April 2 at the Faith Christian Family Church in Eureka Springs with Pastor Greg Perkins officiating. Funeral arrangements were made with Nelson Funeral Service.
