At an early age, Don joined the Air Force, and attended Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. He went on to work as a commercial artist with Potts-Woodsbury in Kansas City, Mo., and was also a free lance designer for Western Auto.
Don's greatest passion was flying. He learned to fly at an early age, and built a two-seat, wooden airplane--the Jodel D-11. In 1969, his plane won first place for the "Best Built" wood airplane from the experimental Aircraft Association.
Don was also the shop owner of two retail stores in Hallmark-Crown Center in Kansas City, Mo. He lived in Eureka Springs for 20 years and was an agent for Morgan Real Estate. Special thanks to Westwood Health and Rehab in Springdale, Ark.
