Gerald C. Adams, a resident of Holiday Island, was born July 22, 1939 in Lubbock, Texas, son of Perry Lee and Doris (Holton) Adams. He departed this life Sunday, July 31, in Rogers at the age of 72.
Gerald worked for the city of Irving, Texas as a City Marshal for about ten years. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Holiday Island Golf Club "The Old Coots."
On September 2, 1995, Gerald was united in marriage with Betty (Koch) Adams who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one step-daughter, Diane and husband, Doug Sowokinos, of Minneapolis, Minn.; one stepson, Robert Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Don Adams of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Matt and Blake Sowokinos, Megan Sowokinos all of Minneapolis; Scott Taylor and William Taylor both of Fort Worth; a niece and a nephew; and a host of other friends and loved ones.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 4, at the First United Methodist Church in Eureka Springs with Reverend Stan Adams officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
