Lois, or Mamou as she was affectionately known, lived in Eureka Springs from 1944-6 at 26 White St., and again from 1976 -- 2007 when she lived at 66 Mountain.
Lois's first husband, Vernon Jones, died in 1968, and in 1976 she married Jack Bailes, who died in 1995.
Vernon worked on the construction of Rock Cottage Garden.
Jack was a rare book dealer who never learned to drive, so when they married Lois did the driving as they explored the country looking for antiquarian books. Lois wasn't so interested in books, but she collected glassware and wall hangings from estate sales, thrift shops and auctions.
Lois was also preceded in death by one son, Vernon Stanley Jones; one son-in-law, Robert Edmisten; two grandchildren, Leta Jones Wilkerson and Harry John Pinnell, III; and one great-grandchild, Ravin SynClare Pinnell.
She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Phillip and Theresa Jones of Fayetteville, Ark.; Michael and Carolyn Jones of Branson, Mo.; and Darrell K. Jones, of Dallas; also by three daughters and their spouses, Lequita and Harry Pinnell, of Erath, La.; Joy and John Miller of Mineola, Texas, and Millie Edmisten, of Springdale, Ark. She is further survived by 25 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great- grandchildren.
