Penny Lynn Harris, 57, of Eureka Springs, died August 16 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born February 2, 1954 in Chicago, Ill., to Dean and Jacquelyn Cameron. She graduated from Senn High School in 1972 and married Randall Jay Harris April 25, 1981.
Penny was a loving wife and mother, former member of the church choir, former Vacation Bible School and Sunday School teacher at Grace Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader and classic film enthusiast.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dean, and her brother, Rodney Dean Cameron.
Survivors include her husband Randall Jay Harris and one son, Ryan Whitfield Harris, of Eureka Springs; her mother, Jacquelyn Whitfield, of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; one sister, Juanita Joyaux, Bloomingdale, Ill.; and three nephews, Christopher, Matthew, and Mikey Joyaux, also of Bloomingdale.
Known as "Ms. Penny" to the 100+ children she cared for during her 25-year stent as a daycare owner and teacher, she touched the lives of an entire generation of children, some of which now have children of their own.
Memorial services will be at the Holiday Island Pavilion on Sunday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. -- 3 p.m. This gathering will be a potluck.
