Citizen of the Week

K.J. Zumwalt has been pleasing the palates of our small community since she opened her first restaurant on Center St. But more than that, she's probably headed up close to 40 benefit art auctions over the years for needy, mostly very sick, individuals with no insurance. At her current restaurant, Caribe, K.J.'s generous donation of time, gathering space, and food, continues to benefit the lives of Eurekans struggling to get by after an unexpected tragedy or medical expense. K.J.'s also traveled to disaster areas to lend a hand to other communities in need. And, she makes a mean Mojito!
