The reenactment of the 1922 bank robbery coincides annually with the Antique Auto Weekend. Kurtz has been involved in the event for more than 30 years, starting as a robber, then becoming a concerned citizen and eventually hosting and organizing the event.
He is said to be the central pin holding it together for the last 16 years. Thank you Kurtz, a.k.a, Scrimshaw Man, for making sure that history is remembered in this fun way. Even in the '20s Eureka was full of special citizens just like Kurtz.

Kurtz is a good man and luckily, "Madge" of Palmolive fame, didn't steal his thunder.
