Marvyda Wild "Skip" Sackett, April 7, 1929 -- Dec. 7, 2011

Marvyda Wild "Skip" Sackett, 82, died peacefully at her home In Fontana, Wisc., on December 7. Skip passed surrounded by family and friends, looking at her beloved Lake Geneva.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Sackett, and son, David Sackett. Skip lived in Eureka Springs from 1978-84, and was a member of the Eureka Springs School Board. She and her husband restored a dozen homes here, and she was instrumental in the founding of the Friends of the Library.

She is survived by son, Scott and wife Sandy of Springdale, Ark.; daughter Cynthia Haberman and husband Rick of Detroit, Mich.; daughter Amy Guthrie and husband Ross of Minneapolis, Minn.; son Stuart and wife Terrie of Pittsburgh, Penn.; a dozen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Skip was cherished by a wide circle of friends, who loved her generous nature and sense of whimsy. A memorial is planned in the spring. Donations may be made to the Carnegie Public Library.
