School board to consider calendar; grounds; staff

EUREKA SPRINGS -- The Eureka Springs School Board will meet Thursday, April 19 to discuss a number of items, including the 2012-13 school calendar.

Tentative dates for the new calendar are to start classes Aug. 20, take winter holiday break from Dec. 21 through Jan. 2, hold last class day May 23 and extend snow days from May 28 through June 3, if needed.

Superintendent Curtis Turner will review the 2011 legislative audit and will also update the board on the new high school.

The board will consider the recommendations of the Facility Committee on the purchase of groundskeeping equipment, and will also vote on the renewal/non-renewal of licensed and classified staff.

The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the administration building at 147 Greenwood Hollow Rd. The public is welcome.
