Artists sought for Arts in Education program

Thursday, May 24, 2012

LITTLE ROCK -- The Arkansas Arts Council is inviting artists to apply for inclusion on the Arts in Education Artist Roster. Performing, literary or visual artists who are interested in working with teachers and students in schools or after-school/summer programs are encouraged to apply.

Applications to join the roster are available at www.arkansasarts.org or by calling (501) 324-9766. Applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 6.

The Arts in Education program Artist Roster is an online listing of artists who are available for participation in the Arts in Education (AIE) residency program. The AIE seeks to integrate arts into life and education by placing professional artists in Arkansas schools (Pre-K -- 12) and non-profit community organizations. Artists work directly with teachers and students to demonstrate art forms and share ideas, creativity and talents.

For more information about AIE, contact Cynthia Haas at (501) 324-9769 or e-mail cynthia@arkansasheritage.org.
