Citizen of the Week

"I nominate Rebecca Babbs for Citizen of the Week because on the third Friday of every month she leads the Dances of Universal Peace at the church on Elk Street. Rebecca learns, then teaches us the words, music and movements for these dances/songs that honor spiritual traditions from throughout the world -- Christian, Hindu, Hebrew, Islamic, Buddhist, etc.

"These dances are a source of fellowship, a little exercise, and mostly a spiritual connection for the 30 or so people who gather. She has done this tirelessly for more than four years, attending workshops and classes to 'pay it forward.'"
