Robert "Bob" E. Rennels, of Berryville, Ark., was born November 22, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas, a son of Harold E. and Nellie Mae (Rutledge) Rennels. He departed this life Sunday, June 10 in his home in Berryville, at the age of 77.
Bob was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Eureka Springs and a member of American Legion Post #9. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Radford during the Korean War. He worked as a chief plans examiner for the municipal building and planning office of Irving, Texas.
On January 28, 1973, Bob was united in marriage with Gloria (Harryman) Rennels who survives him of the home in Berryville.
He is also survived by two sons, Tom Rennels of Eureka Springs, and Tim Rennels of Springdale, Ark; three grandchildren, Benjamin Rennels, Casey Rennels and Samuel Rennels; one brother, Bill Rennels and wife, Pat of Euless, Texas; one sister, Patricia Arnold of South Bend, Ind. He is also survived by two daughters, Rebecca Kurzendoerfer and Leslie Mary and one son, Anthony Rennels, from a previous marriage, and a host of other family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at the St. James Episcopal Church in Eureka Springs with Rev. Ben Helmer officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
