The Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down is inaugurating live auctions on Tuesday
nights starting Oct. 2.
Anyone who has anything to sell can bring it the theater, 3140 E. Van
Buren, on Tuesday mornings starting in October. There is no charge to
put an item in the auction; the seller receives the sold price minus
the auction house's commission. Doors open at 5 p.m., with Col. Bill
Williams taking the stage to start the bidding at 6 p.m. No charge for
admittance. Seats can be reserved by calling the Hoe-Down,
479-253-7725.
"We want to give tourists a reason to stay in Eureka Springs during
the week," said Hoe-Down manager Chisai Childs.
Childs said the auction will be year-round and is a good way to use
the theater on its dark night, when there is no show. An auction of
motorcycle parts and gear is planned. For more information about
