Templeton resigns as school board president
Eureka Springs School Board President Charles Templeton has announced he is resigning from the board effective immediately.
"I have wrestled with this decision for a long time," he said. "I want to go help my wife."
Templeton's wife Sandra is publisher of the Eureka Springs Independent newspaper.
"It was a perceived conflict of interest, but more a personal conflict of conscience, to do both," he said. "I believe they have 30 days to replace me on the board. I'm sure they will re-organize and appoint a new president at their next meeting."
Regular school board meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Administration Building. The public is invited.
