Citizen of the Week

This week's Citizen of the Week is Virginia Benefiel. As her nominator put it, "Virginia will be 86 in March and has given her life to caring for others. She has been an RN for 65 years. She has raised seven children and one foster daughter, and took care of her live-in father-in-law until his death. Virginia retired at age 65 but still volunteers for the Carroll County Health Dept. for its mass flu shot clinic, giving shots at the fairgrounds. She still volunteers at the Mission Clinic, which she helped start, and takes communion to shut-ins and nursing home patients every week." Although space forbids out listing Virginia's many other contributions to our community, we are very happy to honor her as this week's Citizen of the Week.
