Opera in the Ozarks brings Broadway Cabaret, Chamber Music Shows to NWA
Experience the thrilling acoustics of Mildred B. Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista when musicians from Opera in the Ozarks present their annual Chamber Music Concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14.
The concert is an opportunity for the talented musicians of the Opera in the Ozarks orchestra to really shine. Cooper Chapel is an architectural marvel designed by the famed E. Fay Jones, located along Bella Vista's Lake Norwood. A second Chamber Music Concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 15, at the Eureka Springs Auditorium.
General director Nancy Preis said she's excited to perform at a venue with such fabulous acoustics.
"Our orchestra always sounds great as an ensemble, but in chamber music, you hear the individual instruments more clearly and can appreciate the artistry that the players bring," Preis said.
Opera in the Ozarks will also perform Broadway Cabaret at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Basin Park Hotel in Eureka Springs. Broadway Cabaret is an evening of lively entertainment that includes light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
"Last season, our Broadway Cabaret was a sold-out hit, so we added a second performance this season," Preis said. "Our opera singers love to sing Broadway show tunes and other popular music. It's their chance to let their hair down. You don't want to miss this fun evening; you'll definitely have a song in your heart on the way home."
Tickets to Broadway Cabaret are $30 and Chamber Music Concert tickets are $20 and $10 for students under 18 with a valid ID. For more information, call 479-253-8595 or visit www.opera.org.
