First United Methodist Church of Eureka Springs launches youth program

Wednesday, November 27, 2019

The Eureka Springs First United Methodist Church has announced a new program for local 4th, 5th and 6th graders called Children In Action (CIA).

CIA will meet every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the church. The program will encourage kids to explore, dream, pray, talk, make plans, help others, share ideas and celebrate their trumps and achievements. Rev. Blake Lasater said the church hopes the program will provide a place for kids to engage with other kids and build friendships through games, crafts, discussion and projects.

"By sharing their stories and struggles with other children, they'll gain empathy and compassion for each other," Lasater said. "The goal of the program is to equip children and youth to think and live spiritually, biblically and lovingly."

Registration forms are available at the church office at 195 Huntsville Road in Eureka Springs. Office hours are 89 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information, call Ms. Candis Drechsler at 515-368-1012 or leave a message at the church office at 479-253-8987.
