Service spotlight: Betty Flowers
Editor's Note: The Lovely County Citizen is proud to spotlight one of Eureka's special customer service employees every week. This week's spotlight is sponsored by Harts Family Center and written by Que Thomas.
Betty Flowers is self-employed as a master seamstress in Eureka Springs where she has had her own business for two years.
"I am thrilled to be the recipient of this kind of appreciation," Berry said. "Self-employed individuals rarely get the recognition of other types of businesses, so this really is quite an honor."
Betty and her husband Greg are proud parents of three children and nine grandchildren. They have lived in the Hogscald area of Eureka Springs for many years. Although she has been a seamstress for as long as she can remember, Betty didn't start offering her services to the public until her husband retired almost two years ago.
Outside of sewing, Betty's interests are gardening, crossword puzzles, cooking and, of course, playing with her grandchildren every chance she gets.
Betty is very passionate about her work and enjoys the opportunity to sew for her customers. She believes that customer service is just as important in self-employment as it is in any other type of business. She accepts nothing less than good quality work from herself but believes that even good work has to have the standard quality of good customer service to go with it in order to be successful.
Mark and Linda Kennedy are regular customers and they said Betty is a very sweet person who never complains about what is brought in to her.
"We have always taken her everything from shirts that needed buttons to orders for a complete handmade outfit," they said, "and she is always happy to take on the job and is always diligent in getting work done very quickly."
For her excellence in customer service, Betty will receive a $20 gift card from this week's sponsor. Thank you, Betty. Keep up the good work!
