The Eureka Springs school board voted Monday to approve a miscellaneous duty salary schedule increase, which will go into effect at the start of the next school year.

Superintendent Bryan Pruitt said this is to make sure everyone is covered by the state minimum wage increase.

"The minimum wage will go up in January to $11 an hour, so we can get ahead and get that done now," Pruitt said. "That affects... when we bring in custodial or food service substitutes, or bus driver training."

The board also approved increasing the pay for bus aides from $15 per route to $16.50.

The board also approved a meal price increase, which was required by federal guidelines. This will increase high school students' lunch by five cents and staff's lunch by 10 cents.

The board accepted the resignations of fourth grade teacher Jacob Kolasch and high school business teacher Rachael Moyer. It approved the rehiring of all classified staff and the hiring of Misty Holloway and Molly Murray as elementary teachers.

The Eureka Springs school board's next regular meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 13.
