Wolven named community organizer for Global Entrepreneurship Week
Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) has announced that Main Street Eureka Springs executive director Jacqueline Wolven is the official community organizer for the 2020 Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). Wolven is one of many community organizers across the world.
A nonprofit based out of Washington D.C., GEN facilitates entrepreneurial programming through chapters in countries across the world. GEN is an annual initiative designed to celebrate and empower entrepreneurs in countries, states and communities. To date, there have been GEW events in more than 170 countries, including more than 35,000 events and 9 million participants.
Through an application process, Wolven was selected to be the community organizer in Eureka Springs with the responsibility of collaborating across the community to host at least one GEW activity during the week of Nov. 16-22.
“We live in a city of entrepreneurs and being able to highlight internationally as a place to build not just a business but an extraordinary life was too good to pass up,” Wolven said. “We want to get the word out that our community provides quality of life in a fun, outdoor inspired lifestyle that allows for business to grow at the human pace.”
Wolven will join other community organizers across Arkansas in the state’s first collaborative approach to GEW events. This year’s focus areas are inclusion, ecosystem, education and policy. With activities ranging from technical assistance workshops, educational experiences, pitch contests, panel discussions and other events that promote entrepreneurship, GEW will be celebrated all corners of the state.
