Mayor's office encourages everyone to fill out 2020 Census
Eureka Springs Mayor Butch Berry is encouraging everyone to fill out the 2020 Census. According to a press release from Berry’s office, Eureka Springs could lose $12 million in federal funding if everyone doesn’t fill out the ensus. For every person that doesn’t fill out the census, the release says, the Eureka Springs community loses $15,000 in federal funding for vital public services. That funding pays for schools, roads, fire, police, law enforcement and many other public services the community needs, the release says.
The results from the 2020 census also determine the number of seats our state has in Congress and political representation at all levels of government, the release says. The release encourages everyone to complete the 2020 Census and count every person and child. You can do it online at www.my2020census.gov or by calling 844-330-2020 for English and 844-468-2020 for Spanish.
