Lady Highlanders show progress

Tuesday, February 2, 2021

The Eureka Springs Lady Highlanders didn’t win Friday’s game against Life Way Christian at Highlander Arena, but coach Ryan Sanchez said they played much better than they did 24 hours earlier at Alpena.

After losing to Alpena 49-25, Eureka Springs lost to Life Way Christian 54-44.

Junior Olivia Cross made seven three-pointers and scored 21 points for the Lady Highlanders.

“We showed a lot better patience,” Sanchez said.

Cross had 10 points at Alpena, which saw Eureka Springs trail 24-15 at halftime.

Alpena senior Amelya Cook scored a game-high 21 points, including five three-pointers.

Eureka Springs played at Yellville-Summit on Monday night and will travel to Flippin on Friday.
