  The White St. Studio Walk turned into one big, social hug fest. Friday's perfect weather brought out a whole lot of people -- locals and tourists alike.   Most of the artists I talked with were up-beat and said they sold well. Zeek Taylor sold out of original work a half hour after he opened up his home to the public. There was even a big smile from my favorite proverbial grouch John Willer, who with wife Mary Springer, had a successful show...

  There was so much going on last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was like we tried to jam the full month of May Fest into one weekend. Frogs and chicks went leaping and flying out of Zarks and Wilson & Wilson, prayers were maybe answered at Studio 62, short person Randy Newman went on and on at the AUD, people got face to "Faces" at Main Stage, Bill Westerman showed us what 60 years of work looks like, Yard and Spring Art prizes were awarded, the Art Colony rocked, art cars ruled and Books were Blooming at the Crescent Hotel -- and that was only part of it.. ...

Another May is here, and another May Festival of the Arts. Although this year's poster states that this is the 20th Annual May Festival of the Arts, a number of artists who have been around for at least 20 years in Eureka dispute that number, saying it's really only 17, 18, or even an unlikely 19 years this event's been put on. Probably someone with some sort of authority during the 13th annual, announced with absolute conviction, "No, I'm 100 percent positive this is the 16th annual."...
