Citizen cartoonist running for state office

ALMA -- Wolf Grulkey announced he is running for State Representative, District 81 as a Democrat. Grulkey is a long time resident of Alma, moving there from Eureka Springs in 1982. He is a successful businessman operating Alma Printers, Inc., in Alma, and Skyranch Aviation Inc., in Siloam Springs.

He is a graduate of Eureka Springs High School, studied art at Arkansas Tech, has been a political cartoonist/satirist for 40 years. Grulkey is a Vietnam era Navy veteran, 13,000 hour commercial pilot, artist, musician, essayist and elder in the Presbyterian church. He has been the editorial cartoonist for the Lovely County Citizen since 2001.

Grulkey has been active in civic organizations, is a founding member of Alma Rotary and former president of the Alma Kiwanis club. He helped organize the Alma Downtown Merchants Association which put Alma on the map as "Spinach Capital of the World."

"I think that I can be a voice for the people of our district and express their concerns confidently at the state level."

Wolf is 62 years old, has a son, Eric, and daughter, Claire.
