Do the right thing

Viruses mutate. It is a numbers game. The more of the same bug occurring the more they replicate, (they donít reproduce as they are not alive) the more they change. Today, the Covid-19 pandemic is considered to be a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Here is what I understand to be true.

People who are unvaccinated are the people getting sick in the greatest number and have the greatest degree of sickness. The sheer numbers add to the likely increase in more and different variants. We are in a spike of Delta variant now and there are other variants just offstage like the Lambda. We all know that some people will not know they are sick and pass it on while others will have disease from mild to deadly. Even mild to moderate disease can cause long-hauler ailments that can make life miserable for many, many months after recovery. The chance of survival if hospitalized and on a ventilator is about 11 percent. Antibody response is created but isnít as robust as what the vaccines can do.

For those vaccinated, it is possible to get sick. This is called breakthrough disease. However, the numbers of people suffering from breakthrough is very low. Consider finding one specific chigger in my unweeded backyard. If you are an Arkansan, then you get the idea.

The degree of Covid ailment is not usually greater than a short flu. Are there side effects to the vaccine? Sure, as with any medicine, the chances are there. But, unlike the polemic rhetoric, very little occurs in the short term.

Since, this is a novel (new) virus, we still donít know what will happen next. As variants increase, vaccinated and unvaccinated will likely suffer consequences. We all know what we are needing and willing to do to best survive in this day.

Will N-acetyl cysteine remain available? The FDA is pressing to make this by prescription only, but it hasnĎt happened yet. Daily, I suggest N-acetyl cysteine with a small amount of selenium at a proper dose to set up a proper barrier as I have from the beginning. Early science shows it blocks the main receptor used by the nasty virus of today. Plus, it has lung benefit, thins mucous and is a very high valued antioxidant. Check out https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=n-acetyl+cysteine+covid .

Vitamin D, zinc (no more than 50mg/day) and probiotics round out the supplements. Keep a bottle of monolaurin on hand to take in very high dose if the going starts to get rough ó the sooner the better. Stay at that dose until you are better. This protocol should be good for whatever version of flu comes around, too.

This nasty virus that causes Covid-19 is not going to go away.

We will have to find healthy ways to regain our healthy sense of control and create lives which we once had to the best as we can.

Nature, fresh air, gratitude and care/love for ourselves and others will carry us through, if we do the right thing.
