Welcome ~ The Awakening of Spring

Monday, February 25, 2008

Early spring is a special time here. The weather starts to be warm enough to let you get around outside, but the bare trees don't get in the way of the spectacular views.

If you're here at the start of March, enjoy the daffodils and forsythia. By the end of the month, redbud trees will bloom, telling us all that winter has officially ended.

Meanwhile, tourist season reawakens after a sleepy winter. The shops and restaurants look forward to the return of travelers, and you will feel welcome and appreciated wherever you go.

Join us for the Victorian Classic 10K race, either as a runner or as a spectator. Ditto for the St. Paddy's Day parade and festivities. It's always fun to be in the parade, but what's a parade without people cheering from the sidewalks?

After you enjoy the annual Antique Show and Sale, shake off the doldrums of winter with a relaxing massage, or indulge yourself at some of the celebrated places to dine in the area.

The galleries are reopening like spring flowers, with different styles and media to suit every taste.

Enjoy your visit, and be sure to reach out past the immediate confines of Eureka Springs. With so many choices in accommodations, you can extend your stay by a couple of days, and check out the attractions towards Beaver Dam or in Berryville, our neighbor city to the east.
