Eureka in April is just right

If April isn't already your favorite month of the year, it will be after you experience it Eureka Springs style.

This is the month of redbud trees and dogwoods battling for your attention on the hillsides. Flowers pop up everywhere, and the oaks and hickories have leaves again!

The pleasant temperatures encourage us all to stroll the streets of town, enjoying the shops and galleries. Enjoy a leisurely meal on a restaurant deck, and soak up the sights and sounds of spring.

This is an easy and comfortable time of the year in Eureka Springs. On the streets, you'll find more couples than families, and this city is uniquely geared towards encouraging the spirit of romance. People come from all over to get married here, and many of those couples will return again and again to celebrate their anniversaries.

Romance comes in all shapes and sizes, and Eureka Springs celebrates that variety on Spring Diversity Weekend, April 3-6. Diversity in Eureka Springs is celebrated in a lighthearted way, and usually offers something to bring people together rather than place new barriers between them.

With spring erupting everywhere, this is certainly the season to get outdoors. It's not too cool, not too hot--but just right! We may all have different ideas for outdoor activities, but we can mostly agree that those activities will be great in April. Fishing, hiking, canoeing, mountain biking…you just can't go wrong!

And after a day of enjoying the outdoors, treat yourself to the kind of pampering you deserve. Enjoy a massage or other spa treatment. Hey, you survived another winter, so you definitely deserve some special treatment. While we're on the subject of special treatment, let's remember that Eureka Springs offers a wonderful variety of restaurants, from simple to sophisticated.

One of the things which sets Eureka Springs apart from other tourist destinations is the way this city encourages return visitors. If this is your first visit here, you'll have plenty of opportunity to find the many reasons that will bring you back again.
