Mildred Charlene Ames, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born May 27, 1935 in Madison County, a daughter of Raymond and Flora (Harp) Littrell. She died Friday, April 4 in Springdale at the age of 72.
Mrs. Ames is survived by two daughters, Ina Cox of Eureka Springs and Avis Wilmore of Baton Rouge, La.; one son, Jay Bradshaw of Clifty; one sister, Josephine Clark of Berryville; two brothers, Jack Harp and Bruce Littrell of Arkansas; two granddaughters, Jessica Green of Eureka Springs and Tessa Bergen of Fayetteville; one grandson, Jonathan Wilmore of Baton Rouge, La.; three great-grandchildren, Keenan Green, Morgan Green and Alicia McMorrow all of Eureka Springs; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
In the spring of 1967, she married Johnny Ames, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9 at the Nelson's Chapel of the Springs in Eureka Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 10 at Nelson's Chapel of the Springs. Interment will follow in the Eureka Springs Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
