Foster to exhibit at EureKan Art Studio

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

EureKan Art Studio & Shop will host an exhibition of sculpture by Karen Foster, beginning Saturday, May 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. with a reception which is open to the public.

On display will be "The Fibonacci Floor Study," an outstanding 4-foot wide sculpture composed of 65 individual pods representing the spiral of seeds at the center of a sunflower. Foster is known for her smoke-fired sculpture and pottery which is so finely finished that it resembles polished stone. Her work has garnered many awards including the prestigious Arkansas Governor's Award.

Foster will introduce a new textured series of sculpture during the exhibition which will continue throughout June.
