James E. Grayson, a resident of Holiday Island, was born Aug. 8, 1926 in Newburg, Mo., a son of Ellis and Ada (Gaddy) Grayson. He died Monday, Sept. 22 in Eureka Springs at the age of 82.
Mr. Grayson was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Holiday Island Baptist Church, the American Legion, and the Carroll County Bee Keepers. He was also a self employed barber.
On June 5, 1953, he married Ara P. Grayson, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one niece, Austene and husband James Lively of Celina, Texas; and two grandnephews, James "Kit" Lively, Jr. of Dallas, Texas and Mark Lively of Celina, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jane Rhea Rozell.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 26, at Nelson's Chapel of the Springs with Brother James Colwell officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
