Zelda Mae Shelton Woolery, 97, wife of the late Richard Woolery of Charleston, S.C., died on Feb. 8.

Mrs. Woolery was born Nov. 20, 1911 in Butler, Mo., daughter of the late A.J. Shelton and Pearl Alice Voris McElroy Shelton Kennedy.

Mrs. Woolery and her husband owned and operated a hardware and gift store in Eureka Springs before enjoying a long and happy retirement riding horses, playing cards, fishing and entertaining friends.

She is survived by her nieces, Zelda Mae Kay and her husband Richard of Rockville, Utah and Joyce K. Schweitzer and her husband Martin of Sullivan's Island, S.C.; nephews, Richard E. McElroy and his wife Kathy of Ursa, Ill. and Roger D. McElroy and his wife Kay, of Mendon, Ill.; and grand nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph "Dick" Woolery; brother Ray John McElroy; niece Cora Keele Johnson; and nephew Victor Ray McElroy.

Funeral services were held Feb. 13 at the graveside at Live Oak Memorial Gardens in South Carolina. Arrangements were made by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.
